What is Psychosis? Psychosis is characterized as disruptions to a person’s thoughts and perceptions that make it difficult for them to recognize what is real and what isn’t. Psychosis is a symptom, not an illness, and it is more common than you may think. (NAMI)
What is a First Episode? A First Episode refers to the first time someone experiences psychotic symptoms or a psychotic episode. The symptoms can be highly disturbing and unfamiliar, leaving the person confused and distressed. (Yale STEP)
